Podcast One

(This podcast will use the different female voice to narrate this podcast)

Thousand of overseas tertiary education students generally do not make healthy food choices. Therefore, our campaign is mainly for Insearch overseas students who are far away from their family. From our campaign, you will acknowledge some simple and useful ways to keep healthy by yourselves.

We expect to send the message called “Go for healthy eating” to Insearch overseas students, the key point is to eat 2 fruit and 5 vegetables everyday. Here you can find out nifty ways to get more fruit and vegetables into your day, plus some super simple tasty recipes.

What is Healthy Eating? The meaning of the healthy eating is a Well-Balanced Diet. It’s what you eat most of the time that affects your health most. That means no need for lists of “forbidden foods” that you need to learn to live without. That’s self-defeating “diet talk” that we know has a slim chance of lasting long term!

Reams of research tell us that many of these health problems are avoidable by eating a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly. And the earlier in life you begin, the better.

Here are some general guidelines for making healthy food choices:

Aim for more fruits and vegetables. Eating more vegetables and fruits at meals and snacks helps displace higher calorie – and often less nutritious – foods, without leaving you feeling hungry.

Include low fat protein foods – like lean meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, reduced fat dairy foods, beans, soy foods, nuts and seeds – with meals and snacks whenever possible. These foods will help you meet your daily protein requirements (50 grams per day for women, 63 grams for men), and provide many important vitamins and minerals.

Trim the fat. Most people – particularly those who eat out a lot – eat far more fat than is healthy. Limit foods that are fried, prepared with a cream or cheese sauce, or have lots of added butter or oil.

Opt for whole grains whenever possible. Look for whole grain breads, fiber-containing cereals, brown rice and other “brown” grain foods.

Limit your access to “junk foods.” You greatly increase your odds of overindulging if they’re too easily available.

Don’t skip meals. Give yourself every opportunity to get the good stuff in. Skipping meals during the day also often leads to overeating at night, which is not a healthy habit, particularly for those watching their weight.

After hearing those tips, we will tell you healthy life is not about just think, we can help you get through all the problems and finally achieve your goals.

Go for healthy eating is an awareness campaign in association with the UTS Insearch Student Council dedicated to educating overseas students in Australia to form a correct attitude towards the eating issue in Australia.

The Process of developing the idea of video shooting III

To explain the final idea of our major production, as I mentioned before the idea of how we gonna shoot the video.

Two old friends, they all overseas students which nearly came to Australia in the same time, they haven’t seen each other for a long time. While in one morning student A is having a afternoon running in the park, suddenly he saw his old friend B. Student B is play his PSP or some games in the couch of the park and looking mess.

Two old friends are really exciting of their meeting, and A started to screaming at B :”What happened to you! Look at you! You are such a mess! ”

Then the B telling A how he lived in these days, and he eats junk food everyday, playing computer games and late for school…

On contrary, A is telling B how he kept fit everyday, he eats fruit everyday and doing exercises.

By comparing the two people in the video, we let the audiences choose which one of them would you want to be.

The Process of developing the idea of video shooting II

After we settle down the idea of our campaign, the coming things that we need to solve are the research and design; how we gonna design our website and our video and what kind of research do we need.

The content detail is really important because it’s about what we telling our audiences, what kind of information do we convey to them, and these information must be interesting and unique that will draw the attention of the audiences.

So after done a large numbers of research, we quoted the information which called “Go for 2&5”, this campaign is fairly successful because it give the audiences a message that do not make you life so complicated, only eat 2 fruit and 5 vege. you can keep healthy life. That idea is the one that we want our target audiences to know, because overseas students have financial limitation, none of them would spend a lot of money on eating, so spend less money still keep healthy, this idea can easily draw people’s attention.

So we settle our campaign name is “Go for healthy eating” as well as our campaign slogan.

The Process of developing the idea of video shooting I

The idea of our major project was coming from the convenient lunch box recently is really famous in Asian countries, cheap, health, convenient and colorful lunch box. These box brings up people’s appetite and also good for children with their eating habit.

So at the very beginning, our group was thinking that promoting those convenient lunch box to the kids in primary school. But after talked to Michael Whittle, he told us it is illegal to do some research to the kids; if we really want to do this we should get the agreement from the parents. After our consideration, we changed slightly different of our target audiences to the young mother in UTS, and we will try to find some young mother organization in order to finish this campaign.

And we will do some survey about this lunch box, in order to find out if those lunch boxes were accepted by these young mother.

After we settle down the main idea that we are going to do for our campaign, several problems are coming out, such as the research about this topic is a world that we completely unknown and not familiar. And this topic is too narrow that only targeted at the young mother.

Finally, we think out that to change our target audiences to the overseas students, which is the kind of topic we know so much, even all the group member ourselves are our own target audiences.

Other media products

Our group decided to do some other media production, such as poster, T-shirt, bookmark and postcard. No matte what k

ind of media products we are chosen, the design is all based on this picture below.

This picture is really good and related to our topic, which is go for healthy eating in Australia. And Michael is totally agree with us.

T- shirt : The design of the T-shirt is simple, we are using a white T-shirt and have it painted with this pic and our logo below”Go for healthy eaing”

Pin: The circle pin we decided still using this pic and the edge of pin we will put our campaign name and our website address.

Website design

The website design is still annoying because it re

quires you a lot of technology and knowledge of how to use photoshop and dreamweaver.

This is the final design of our website, I haven’t finish it.

Research--Survey

Aim

l      The aim of the campaign is to persuade overseas students to change to healthier eating habits, whilst at the same time, spending less time than before, doing it.

l      The awareness campaign called “healthy eating” is targeted at Insearch overseas students.

l      The campaign will involve a proactive and unifying positive message rather than simply scaring the target audienc

es about the serious effects that bad eating may have on them.

l      The following research indicates the importance of the issue:

About the topic / problem

The facts

l      We are a culture in which people are dying from a condition (obesity) that is, in part, controlled by behavior (Dryden 2005).

l      Individuals aged 18 to 24 years are more likely to be overweight or obese (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2006).

l      Australia and overseas tertiary education students generally do not make healthy food choices.

l      According to our questionnaire, 20 out of 30 Insearch overseas students do not think they have healthy eating habits.

l      Students living away from the family home had made some negative changes, they decreased their weekly consumption of fresh fruit, cooked and raw vegetables, oily fish, seafood, pulses and olive oil, and increased their sugar, wine, alcohol and fast food intake (Papadaki, Hondros, Scott and Kapsokefalou 2007).

l      Our questionnaire showed that 14 out of 30 Insearch overseas students eat fruit just 2 or 3 times a week; 14 of them eat fish rarely per week.

l      Many do not get enough exercise: 20 out of 30 Insearch overseas students do not do exercise.

l      The weekly number of home cooked meals decreased, whereas the number of microwave / frozen meals, as well as take-away meals increased (Dryden 2005).

l      According to our questionnaire, 14 Insearch overseas students eat outside at least once per day.

The result

l      They grow a little taller, but they also tend to remain sedentary, high-fat, fast-food people(Dryden 2005).

Target audience

Our target audience is primarily tertiary students, who have a presumed educational and knowledge level.

The attitud

es

l      Consumers are generally thought to engage in behaviors toward which they possess favorable attitudes and vice versa (Sheth and Frazier 1982).

l      In Australia, young adults are not only more likely to be overweight or obese, but they are also less likely to consume the minimum recommended daily amount of fruit and vegetables (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2006).

l      Overseas students are marginally more likely than those students who are living with family to consume at least fives serves of vegetables on a typical day.

l      Our questionnaire showed that 18 out of 30 Insearch overseas students pay attention to healthy information.

l      17 of t

hem believe that it would be hard for them to make changes in their eating habits.

The factors of food choice

l      Lack of experience in food shopping, preparation and planning meals

l      A general lack interest in food and lack of time

l      Life experiences (e.g. social settings, cultural criteria), psychological and physiological traits, preferences, beliefs and expectations

l      Changes in living arrangements, cost and financial resources, as well as increased availabili

ty of convenience and fast foods

Q: Do you often eat at home or outside?

1/3 Insearch overseas students eat outside. That is an important factor which influence their eating habits.

Q: How much do you spend on eating outside per day?

2/3 students spend around $16-$20 per day. However, they spend such more money does not mean they eat healthily.

Q: How long do you spend on cooking / perparing food at home per day?

1/3 students cooking at home under 30 mins.It indecated that most of them have limited time on cooking.

Q: Do you have breakfast before going to university?

It is clearly showed that about 2/3 Insearch overseas studsents do not have breakfast before going to university. This is an essential for them, however, most of them ignore it.

Q: How many times a week do you eat fish?

The statistic shows that only 1/3 Insearch overseas students eat fish 2 or 3 times a week while 2/3 of them rarely or never eat fish. This is an urgent issue for our campaign to change their eating habits.

Q: How frequently do you eat at fast food restaurants?

More than half respondents eat at fast food restaurants 2 or 3 times a week, and 1/5 Insearch overseas students almost everyday eat at fast food restaurants.

Q: Do you think you have healthy eating habits?

It is appearant that 2/3 respondents admire they have unhealthy eating habits. This will be the necessity of our campaign to improve our target audience’s eating habits.

Tips of healthy diet

Simple Strategies for Better Nutrition
Doing some background information research is useful, and these research helped us to form a mature recognization of what healthy eating habit is? And helped us with what aspects of information should we put in the short video.
In the short video, we are going to shoot a guy who live in a healthy life, in order to show how healthy he is, we need to put some information in the video that shows to the audiences that that's the life we recommond everybody following.
The concpet of what is healthy eating is quit simple and clear. Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible – all which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and incorporating them in a way that works for you.
Choose the types of foods that improve your health and avoid the types of foods that raise your risk for such illnesses as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Expand your range of healthy choices to include a variety of delicious foods. Learn to use guidelines and tips for creating and maintaining a satisfying, healthy diet.
Healthy Eating: Strategies for a healthy diet
Here are some tips for how to choose foods that improve your health and avoid foods that raise your risk for illnesses while creating a diet plan that works for you.
Big picture strategies for healthy eating. (We are going to shoot that the healthy guy hanging a big nutrition picture on his wall to show how he cared about his healthy)
Eat enough calories but not too many. Maintain a balance between your calorie intake and calorie expenditure—that is, don't eat more food than your body uses. The average recommended daily allowance is 2,000 calories, but this depends on your age, sex, height, weight, and physical activity.
Eat a wide variety of foods. Healthy eating is an opportunity to expand your range of choices by trying foods—especially vegetables, whole grains, or fruits—that you don't normally eat.
Keep portions moderate, especially high-calorie foods. In recent years serving sizes have ballooned, particularly in restaurants. Choose a starter instead of an entrée, split a dish with a friend, and don’t order supersized anything.
Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes—foods high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, low in fat, and free of cholesterol. Try to get fresh, local produce limit sugary foods, salt, and refined-grain products. Sugar is added to a vast array of foods. In a year, just one daily 12-ounce can of soda (160 calories) can increase your weight by 16 pounds. See suggestions below for limiting salt and substituting whole grains for refined grains. (Not only just shoot the pictures that he hanging on his wall, but also we are going to shoot he stored a lots of fresh fruit vege in his place)
Don’t be the food police. You can enjoy your favorite sweets and fried foods in moderation, as long as they are an occasional part of your overall healthy diet. Food is a great source of pleasure, and pleasure is good for the heart – even if those French fries aren’t!
Get moving. A healthy diet improves your energy and feelings of well-being while reducing your risk of many diseases. Adding regular physical activity and exercise will make any healthy eating plan work even better.
One step at a time. Establishing new food habits is much easier if you focus on and take action on one food group or food fact at a time
Eating smart: A keystep towards healthy eating
Healthy eating begins with learning how to “eat smart”. It's not just what you eat, but how you eat. Paying attention to what you eat and choosing foods that are both nourishing and enjoyable helps support an overall healthy diet.
Take time to chew your food: Chew your food slowly, savoring every bite. We tend to rush though our meals, forgetting to actually taste the flavors and feel the textures of what is in our mouths. Reconnect with the joy of eating. (Shooting he chew his food)
Avoid stress while eating: When we are stressed, our digestion can be compromised, causing problems like colitis and heartburn. Avoid eating while working, driving, arguing, or watching TV (especially disturbing programs or the news). Try taking some deep breaths prior to beginning your meal, or light candles and play soothing music to create a relaxing atmosphere. (We will make a comfortable enviorment while he is eating)
Listen to your body: Ask yourself if you are really hungry, and stop eating when you feel full. It actually takes a few minutes for your brain to tell your body that it has had enough food, so eat slowly. Eating just enough to satisfy your hunger will help you remain alert, relaxed and feeling your best, rather than stuffing yourself into a “food coma”!
Eat early, eat often: Starting your day with a healthy breakfast can jumpstart your metabolism, and eating the majority of your daily caloric allotment early in the day gives your body time to work those calories off. Also, eating small, healthy meals throughout the day, rather than the standard three large meals, can help keep your metabolism going and ward off snack attacks.
Support your health and the environment by eating locally-grown food!!! This one is particular important because our target market of our campaign is the overseas students, these people may not get used the food in Australia.
Locally-grown food is fresher than what you'll find in the supermarket, which means that is tastier and more nutritious. And since the food travels a shorter distance to get to you, it is better for the environment and helps us reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Buying local food also supports your local economy.
To find local growers and farmer's markets in your area, visit Local Harvest.
Healthy eating: The basics on carbs, protein and fat
Despite what certain fad diets would have you believe, we all need a balance of carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber and vitamins to sustain a healthy body. But what are good carb, protein, and fat choices for developing your own healthy eating plan?
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates – food composed of some combination of starches, sugar and fiber - provide the body with fuel it needs for physical activity by breaking down into glucose, a type of sugar our cells use as a universal energy source.
Bad carbs are foods that have been “stripped” or processed in order to make cooking fast and easy, like white flour, refined sugar, and white rice. They digest so quickly that they cause dramatic elevations in blood sugar, which can lead to weight gain.
Good carbs can’t be digested as easily. This keeps your blood sugar and insulin levels from rising and falling too quickly, helping you get full quicker and feel fuller longer. Good sources of carbs include whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables, which also offer lots of additional health benefits, including heart disease and cancer prevention.
Fiber
Dietary fiber is found in plant foods (fruit, vegetables and whole grains) and is essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system. Fiber helps support a healthy diet by:
Helping you feel fuller faster and longer, which can help prevent overeating.
Keeping blood sugar levels even, by slowing digestion and absorption so that glucose (sugar) enters the bloodstream slowly and steadily.
Maintaining a healthy colon - the simple organic acids produced when fiber is broken down in the digestive process helps to nourish the lining of the colon.
The two types of fiber are soluble and insoluble:
Soluble fiber can dissolve in water and can also help to lower blood fats and maintain blood sugar. Primary sources are beans, fruit and oat products.
Insoluble fiber cannot dissolve in water, so it passes directly through the digestive system. It’s found in whole grain products and vegetables.
A healthy diet should contain approximately 20 to 30 grams of fiber a day, but most of us only get about half of that amount.

The process of developing our major production

The process of developing our group major production is really difficult. All of group members tried eveyway to inspire our thoughts, maybe it's because all of our group members are chinese, and it is too difficult for us to think as a westerner. And have a creative mind. But after we talked to a lot of our teachers, finally our major production became realizable.

Plan A
The first one, be honestly is a diseaster, it was totally rejected by our teacher. We only pay our attention on the idea, we just think this idea might be intereting, but we never really think about the details and how our target audiences are gonna reflect our idea. Toula said if she is watching this video she will just turn around.

The first idea is:
Because we think that puting the idea of how to keep healthy and what you should do, it too dull and nobody will pay attention to. As a reason of this we think that rather than puting the idea of how to keep healthy, we just recording a people how he or she is getting tired of seen all these information about healthy eating, so people would think that they have the same thoughts. If the audiences wanna to looking for some different they should come to our campaign or visit our website.

Plan B
In the process of plan B we think that all the teacher is asking us to put our idea in the video, how about we shooting a girl that how she get confused what she gonna to eat and finally she meet our people and helping her with her problem. By shooting she wake up in the morning and she walking towards the refridge, wondering what she gonna eat today, suddenly a people came in wearing our uniform and helping her with her problem.
I think this one is pretty good and we talked to Toula, she think this idea is much better that our last one. But because of the time limited she actually havn't got a chance to give us any idea that what we should improve.
Then we decided to talk to Micheal Whittle, Micheal think this idea is lack of interest, and he think we wouldn't be able to attract our target audiences. So he came up with the idea that we should shoot a soapy way, like days of our lives.

Plan C
According to the suggestion that Micheal gave us, we came up with a brand new idea.
Two old friends, long time no seen , one of them is living a healthy life style and he eat fruit and vege everyday. The other one, his life is a totaly mess.
Two guys meet on somewhere and the healthier one is compeletly freaked out by the mess one, and crab his arm screaming "Look at you!you look such a mess! What happened!..." such kind of conversation. And after this these two guys recalling about their lives, one healthy life style; the other one is mess and unhealty. By comparing these two, give the audiences a message that if you wanna to be the healthy one you should come to our campaign to seeking for a method that help you with your lives.

Plan C is proved by Toula, she thinks this one is pretty good and finally our idea settled down.

To my opinion, this process is really frustrating and really killing me. But still interesting and i learn a lot of things from it. If you really wanna to achieve something, by wanna to success is not helping you should give a lot of effort and do a lot of research. Success is not that easy.

what is healthy eating? how much do you know about healthy eating?

Let me ask you guys this question:
What is healthy eating?
How much do you know about healthy eating?
And do you think you live a healthy life?
Thousand of overseas tertiary education students generally do not make healthy food choices. Therefore, our campaign is mainly for Insearch overseas students who are far away from their family. From our campaign, you will acknowledge some simple and useful ways to keep healthy by yourselves.

"Go for 2 & 5"

This is the homepage of the website go for 2 & 5, our group choose this website as our example of design our website also some of the information in this website we prettey much like. The reason that we pretty much like this website is because this campaign is a really success one, another reason is this website is convey a healthy eating message especially for Australian, we think this website is really suitful for the overseas students in Australia.

Eating plenty of fruit and vegies not only contributes to good health, but also protects against a number of diseases and helps maintain a healthy weight.
Most Australians eat only half the amount of fruit and vegies recommended for good health. Adults need to eat at least 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegies each day. The amount children need depends on their age.
Here you can find out about the benefits of fruit and vegies, nifty ways to get more fruit and vegies into your day, plus some super simple tasty recipes.

According this successful campaign, we can form our own campaign more eazy.
A fairly simple idea go for 2 and 5 is convey a message that human body need 2 fruit and 5 vege every, as long as you eat those 7 things, keep healthy is a thing that realizable.

If I nEvEvR sEe U fAcE aGiN

lyric:

Maroon 5 ft. Rihanna - If I Never See Your Face Again

Now as the summer fades
I let you slip away
You say I'm not your type
But I can make you sway

It makes you burn to learn
You're not the only one
I left you, be a field
Put down your blazing gun
Now you've gone somewhere else
Far away
I don't know if I will find you (find you, find you)
But you feel my breath
On your neck
Can't believe I'm right behind you (right behind you)
'Cause you keep me coming back for more
And I feel a little better than I did before
If I never see your face again
I don't mind
'Cause we got much further than I thought we get tonight

Sometimes you move so well
It's hard not to give in
I'm lost, I can't tell
Where you end and I begin

It makes me burn to learn
You're with another man
I wonder if he's half
The lover that I am
Now you've gone somewhere else
Far away
I don't know if I will find you (find you, find you)
But you feel my breath
On your neck
Can't believe I'm right behind you (right behind you)
'Cause you keep me coming back for more
And I feel a little better than I did before
If I never see your face again
I don't mind
'Cause we got much further than I thought we get tonight

Baby, baby
Please believe me
Find it in your heart to reach me
Promise not to leave me behind
(Promise not to leave me behind)
Take me back, but take it easy
Make me think but don't deceive me
Talk to me by taking your time
(Talk to me, talk to me)
'Cause you keep me coming back for more
And I feel a little better than I did before
And if I never see your face again
I don't mind
'Cause we got much further than I thought we get tonight
Keep me coming back for more
And I feel a little better than I did before
If I never see your face again
